Kathy Hanks and I arrived in Chicago last night after a full day of driving, sometimes through teeming rain. Our other two compadres, Vicki and Barbara, will join us today in Springfield, Illinois, at Lincoln’s tomb. Right now, Kathy and I are enjoying a delicious brunch at Lou Mitchell’s Restaurant walking distance from the original Rte. 66 sign that designates the beginning of the Mother Road.
